PSDM headquarter teams visits various districts to ensure the placements of candidates in the Industry

With an aim to ensure optimum placement opportunities to the skilled Youth under the Punjab Skill Development Mission, the Managers visited various districts of the state and inspected the facilities there. Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Government said that the move was aimed at providing gainful employment to all the deserving Youth under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme. He said that Punjab Government had already launched the third round of State Level Job Fairs from November 12 to November 22, 2018. The managers also directed the institutes to encourage maximum Youth to participate in the upcoming Job Fairs and get benefit from them.During the visit the managers visited the Industrial Hub Ludhiana for liasoning with Industry for providing better employment opportunities to the candidates trained by Punjab Skill Development Mission. PSDM officials met the GMDIC Ludhiana in order to understand the demand of Industry and visited Vardhaman Textiles and Trident Corporate Office for providing human resource as per their requirement.

Spokesperson said that a team from PSDM State Head quarter, reviewed preparedness of Job Melas in district Ferozepur also.  Candidate wise tracking of all the unplaced candidates was reviewed and strategy formulated for the way forward in Job Melas.  Training Partner, Employment Officer & GMDIC, Ferozepur also attended the meeting and allocated dedicated resource persons for the placements of candidates as per the norms of the schemes.The Mission managers in order to improve the placement of candidates trained under different schemes running under PSDM, Mission Managers from PSDM visited the industrial units of Hawkins Cookers Limited, Vardhaman Yarns and Threads Ltd and GNA Gears Limited located at Hoshiarpur district.During their visit to to the District Hosiarpur, the Mission Managers met with human resources of these units to get the future prospecting opportunities in order to boost the employment opportunities for them. As per their interaction with them they assured to provide full support in arranging Job fairs and Campus Interviews in coordination with DPMU team. They highlighted that there is high demand of skilled Grinder, Turner etc. in the region.Similar visits were also done in Mukktsar district by the mission headquarter authorities, where they met employers engaged by GMDIC under PMEGP for new entrepreneurship ventures.
