Government should give incentives to the farmers to compensate them for stubble burning : Swatanter Kumar

"Hon’ble Justice Swatanter Kumar, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India & Former Chairperson, National Green Tribunal urged Centre Governments to give incentives to the farmers as the compensation for not burning stubble in the paddy Fields". This was said by Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar while addressing around 5000 students of around 25 Colleges falling under 10 Districts of Punjab during the inauguration ceremony of Zonal Youth Festival of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh.Mr. Justice further said that Stubble burning is a major issue in the Paddy cultivating regions so to save the environment from pollution Youth should come forward and work as the brand ambassadors to spread the awareness in the common people and farmers about the problems caused by Pollution.Swatanter Kumar further added that 235 million people suffer from asthma worldwide. This chronic lung disease causes breathlessness, tightness in the chest and coughing accounting for 3, 83,000 deaths annually which is the matter of serious concern.
