Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today directed the Sub Divisional Magistrates to take stern action against the erring Sewa Kendras under their respective jurisdiction, that were causing lot of inconvenience to people on one pretext or another.In a meeting with the Sub Divisional Magistrates, the Deputy Commissioner said that it was unfortunate that reports were pouring in that instead of facilitating the people, the Sewa Kendras were indulging in undue harassment of the people, which was undesirable and intolerable. He asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates to probe all such complaints against the Sewa Kendras and take strict action against them. Mr. Sharma said that people should not suffer due to the incompetency of the Sewa Kendra Management to deal with the situation.The Deputy Commissioner said that, in consonance with the directions of the state government, the district administration was committed for providing citizen centric services to people on their doorsteps. He said that if the anomalies by the Sewa Kendras were trying to act as stumbling blocks in this mission of the state government, then it would not be tolerated at any cost. Mr. Sharma said that zero tolerance policy would be adopted against any sort of inordinate delay by the Sewa Kendras in providing efficient citizen centric services to people in a time bound manner adding that stern action would be taken against the management of Sewa Kendras if they fail in their duty.The Deputy Commissioner expressed his complete dissatisfaction over the ways the things were moving at the Sewa Kendras. He said that the lack luster approach of the officials working here was in contrary to the basic essence of the Captain Amarinder Singh government’s commitment to provide citizen centric services to the people within stipulated manner. Mr. Sharma said that this could not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the staff members who would not mend their working styles.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr. Jitendra Jorwal and Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Paramvir Singh, Mr. Amit Kumar and Mr. Sanjeev Sharma besides others.
