Education Minister of Punjab O. P.Soni has announced that the with an aim to create the sports culture in the primary schools the Punjab government would spent the 15 % sports funds on primary school games .Today addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Punjab inter district primary school games , the minister said that the education department would ensure that the budding players should get all kind of support and training in schools so that the sports friendly environment could be created .He said that the department has sanctioned Rs. 3 crore to facilitate the 5000 participants at these school games under which the department would provide quality diet during the games . Besides that the players would also get track suits , sports kits etc .Advocating to strengthen the basic infrastructure at primary schools to provide suitable platform to the budding players , the minister said that it was the first time that such kind of primary school games are being organised at large scale . He asked the participants to perform with dedication to attain the first positions.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included DPI Elementary Inderjit Singh , DEO Salwinder Singh , Sunita Kiran, assistant director Gurmej Kainth , Savinder Singh and Dharmveer Serran .
