Governor Acharya Devvrat while speaking during the inaugural ceremony of four-day long international Arya Maha Sammelan inaugurated by Ram Nath Kovind, President of India today at Rohini in New Delhi stressed the need to follow the teachings of great scholar and reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who promoted women empowerment, right to education and Vedic culture for betterment of the society.The Governor said that Swami Daya Nand had strongly opposed various social evils and also contributed immensely towards the education sector, particularly for girl education. Taking inspiration from Swami Dayanand, through DAV and Gurukul, Arya Samaj was still making significant contribution in the field of education.“There is no area of humanity where Swami did not work for human consciousness”, said Acharya Devvrat adding that we could contribute towards building a strong society by taking forward the mission of Maharshi Dayanand.He said that the main objective of the conference was to deliberate on the future course of the nation and its youth and how the philosophy of Vedas could be taken to the masses. 

He stressed that Indian breed cow rearing and agriculture policy should also be deliberated in depth.“Swami Dayanand called the farmers, the king of kings but, today farmers of the country are worried and we should think how to improve their condition”, said the Governor.Acharya Devvrat expressed hope that through this event, new thoughts would come up to enlighten the society particularly on motivating the people for adopting Vedas for living a value based life. He urged the people to denounce the caste system from society and promote the spirit of nationalism to achieve the goal of fully civilized society as was promoted by Swami Dayanand.He also expressed his gratitude to the President for their guidance and encouragement.Dr. Harsh Wardhan, Union Minister of science & Technology and Environment, Ganga Prasad, Governor of Sikkim, Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Union Minister of State, Adesh Kumar Gupta, Mayor, North Delhi, Municipal Corporation, Swami Sumedha Nand Saraswati, Member of Parliament were also present on this occasion.
