Cong-PPP hold joint function in support of Capt Amarinder

The Congress and the People’s Party of Punjab today held a joint function to honour Capt Amarinder Singh for his nomination as the Congress candidate from Amritsar. The leaders of the two parties resolved to ensure that the Akali-BJP alliance was wiped out of Punjab and the Congress and PPP won all the 13 seats.Speaking on the occasion, Capt Amarinder said that there was a groundswell of anger and outburst against the ruling Akali-BJP alliance. He said, he will ensure that these elections mark the beginning of the end for the corrupt and communal Akali-BJP alliance. He said, the Akalis had cheated Arun Jaitley into contesting from Amritsar who is finding it difficult to run his campaign.Addressing the function the PPP vice president Maninderpal Singh Palasaur said, it was an honour for people of Amritsar to elect Capt Amarinder Singh as their representative in the parliament.Prominent among those present included Jagroop Singh, Manmohan Singh Gumtal, Daljit Singh Dhillon, Gurdial Singh Majithia, Gulzar Singh Khasa, Jawinder Singh Rajasansi, Surinder Singh Pannu and others.
