Ashwani Kumar, Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), Dena Bank today visited Chandigarh. He addressed the Customer Meet in Hotel Taj in Chandigarh. Sh. M.K. Sharma, GM (North) and Sh. C.S.Meena, Regional Manager were also present on the occasion. More than 40 top industrialists from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh attended the meet.
Addressing the customers, Sh Ashwani Kumar said that Dena Bank has 11,200 employees serving 13.8 million customers through 1430 branches across the country. He further said that team Dena is all geared up to expand its horizon in terms of branches and customers. He explained that on one hand Dena Bank would provide the best possible innovative products and services and on the other hand, it would facilitate its customers to grow by leaps and bounds.
Kumar said that he plans to make better use of technology to improve customer services. On technology, he said that the thrust would be on converting alternate channels into mainstream channels. Alternate banking channels include transaction done through mobile, ATM and internet. "The focus would be to provide convenience in banking and on how to improve service and ensure that visits to the branches are reduced," explained Kumar.
Underlining his priorities for the growth of Dena Bank, he revealed the road map for aggressive expansion plan. He said that whereas in the previous year 958 young people had joined the bank, in the current year it is planned to induct about 1594 young people in the workforce of Dena Bank.Kumar further added that the recent performance of Dena has been impressive because of 33% y-o-y growth in business, 35% in Operating profit with 2.96% NIM, 1.04% ROA, 1.97% and 1.22% Gross and Net NPAs during H1 FY 13 positions Dena Bank very favourably as compared to peer group and PSU Banks. While addressing the staff of different branches of Dena Bank tricity, Kumar appealed to all to gear up immediately and identify the areas for improvement, gaps in targets and to readjust resources and thereby channelize full energies to realise the goals.
