State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a revenue Patwari, and two private person red handed in two different bribery cases.Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Satnam Singh, Patwari, posted at revenue halqua Dudansadan in Fatehgarh Sahib district and his agent Avtar Singh (a private person) were caught red handed on the complaint of Sukhwinder Bharti of village Shekhpura in Patiala district.Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 15000 from him for mutation of his land. After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the both the accused were caught red handed and tainted money amounting to Rs. 14000 was recovered from them in the presence of two official witnesses.
In another bribery case an agent of Naib Tehsildar’s reader was caught red handed for accepting bribe.The spokesperson said an agent Naamdev (private person) who was working as agent of reader Varinder Singh in the office of Naib Tehsildar, Talwara, Hoshiarpur was caught red handed on the complaint of Rajesh Kumar of village Rajwal in Hoshiarpur district.He said that the complaint approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused was demanding bribe of Rs. 2000 to help him in land dispute case.After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused were caught red handed and tainted money amounting to Rs. 1000 was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against the above mentioned accused at VB police stations Patiala and Jalandhar respectively and further investigation was under progress.
