B.B.Vyas meets various public delegations in Rajouri, Takes stock of developmental scenario

In his day long visit to Rajouri, Advisor to the Governor B.B.Vyas Monday met numerous public deputations to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and also reviewed the development scenario in the District.Numerous delegations of senior citizens and civil society members drawn from different areas of the district called upon the advisor to put forth the issues of public interest and sought hassle free execution of the development projects besides seeking government intervention for timely completion of these projects.Better road connectivity, uninterrupted power and drinking water-supply, adequate healthcare and sanitation facilities, clearance of liabilities under MGNREGA and SBM were among the plethora of other issues raised by the delegations.A public deputation from Khawas highlighted issues like pendency in sanction of pension cases, installation of hand pumps, opening of an allopathic dispensary at village Gunda and non-payment of wages under MGNREG. Similarly, a delegation of Rajouri town lead by Dinesh Sharma discussed various issues pertaining to implementation of 3-tier system and 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments in Jammu and Kashmir, additional funding for municipal committee Rajouri, completion of three bridges started under CRF, identification of land for the parking, replacement of worn out pipes in the town besides funds for the construction of park, community hall at Jawahar Nagar and installation of street lights.Another delegation from the Budhal demanded start of work on Budhal-Shopian road, completion of Rajouri-Budhal and Koteranka-Khawas road apart from development of tourism infrastructure for taping the tourism potential of the area for economic welfare of the locals.

Meanwhile another delegation from Rajouri discussed various issues of Rajouri town like scarcity of water in Rajouri, completion of sports stadium, construction of the warehouse for which funds to the tune of Rs. 50 Lakh stands released by the government.Demands for completion of Mini secretariat building, the opening of the polytechnic college in Thannamandi, setting up of an Industrial Estate at Thannamandi and release of SDRF funds for victims of flash floods 2014 were raised by a deputation from Thannamandi whereas a deputation from Nowshera discussed issues related to Lift Irrigation Scheme Beripattan, macadamisation of roads in Nowshera town, CJM court for Nowshera, construction circular road and community hall. A delegation of Pahari speaking community raised the issue of grant of 3-percent reservation to Pahari speaking community with the Advisor.A delegation led by Syed Manzoor Bukhari raised some issues from kotranka area. The issues which were discussed with Advisor includes opening of JK Bank branch at Kotdhadara, need of up-gradation of existing roads in Kotranaka area, starting of classes in Govt Degree College Kotranka and need for the development of infrastructure and start off classes at ITI Kotranaka which was sanctioned two years ago.Similarly, delegation from Sunderbani also met Advisor and raised issues like construction of SodhraThandapani by by pass road, upgradation of Sunderbani to Joginalla road via Lamman and construction of conference Hall Sunderbani.A delegation from Kalakote also raised the issues related to widening of Siot Kalakote road, Up-gradation of Govt High School Tatapani to Higher secondary level and up-gradation of CHC Kalakote to Sub District Hospital status.

Responding to the issues raised deputations B B Vyas reiterated that the Governor’s administration is for result oriented disposal of the demands projected by the public.He assured that the issues projected by the public delegations will be examined and redressed in a systematic manner.Meanwhile, on the spot directions were passed for redressal of grievances put forth by the public deputations. He directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the local population for prompt redressal of grievances and public service delivery.Meanwhile, in a function organized by the District Social Welfare Office, the advisor also handed over the keys of as many as 14 motorised tri-cycles to the identified beneficiaries who have disability of 40% and above in their lower limb.Speaking on the occasion advisor said with the government has undertaken various initiatives including a monthly pension of Rs 1000/= to the Physically Challenged Persons under Integrated Social Security Scheme and National Social Assistance Programme besides provision of prosthetic aids and motorized tricycles so as to ensure a sustainable life to them.Deputy commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, ADC Rajouri Sher Singh, CPO Rajouri YoginderKatoch were among the other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
