Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal has congratulated the youth of Haryana, who have won India Skills Competition and said that state government has constituted Haryana Skill Development Corporation on the pattern of National Skill Development Corporation which is yielding positive results. Our youths are competitive enough to compete in international level competitions.Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Mr Vipul Goel also congratulated the youths for their significant achievement in bagging 10 medals in recently held India Skills Competition for World Skill Olympics in New Delhi. “Haryana has shown outstanding performance in this skill competition of global nature and besides Sports, now Haryana enters in skill area as well. I am sure that these talented youths would also exhibit their talent in Youth World Skills Olympics-2019 which is going to be held in Kazan, Russia,” he added.While giving detail information about the event, a spokesman of Skill Development and Industrial Training department said that over 400 candidates from 27 States and Union Territories in nearly 46 skills, 10 traditional skills and 4 demo skills, showcased their talent in India Skills Competition that held in New Delhi. Apart from this, Olympics of Abilities-Abilympics was also organized for the first time for the people of Public Works Department in 10 skills.He said that Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) for the first time has participated in this competition on behalf of Haryana. As a part of it, HSDM had also organized Zonal and State Skills Competition-2018 at various Districts, in which over 600 students had got themselves registered for the Zonal level competition. The winners of State Skills Competition-2018 had participated in Regional Skills competition organized by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) where 21 youths were the winner. The winning 21 youths in Regional Skills competition from Haryana in 12 skill segments participated in National Skills Competition-2018 to exhibit their talent, he added.
He said that the arena of India Skills Competition-2018 was at par with that of World Skills Competition (a Skill Olympics). In the completion, Manoj Kumar (Electronics) and Rahul (Industrial Control) of Haryana bagged two gold medals, while two silver medals were bagged by Rohit Gaider (Cooking) and Rahul Jangra (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning). Six bronze medals were bagged by Neeraj Makhija (Electronics), Gulshan Singh(IT SSB), Kartavya Saini (Painting & Decoration), Jagat Yadav (Restaurant Service),Ritesh Yadav (Web design & Technology) and Vinod (Plumbing & Heating) and 3 Medals were bagged by Prince (Cooking), Kunal Jain (Electronics) and Roshan Kumar(Car Painting). NSDC has announced a prize money of Rs one lakh, Rs 75,000 and Rs.50,000 to Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winner, respectively.He said that these gold and silver medalists would undergo finest class training for participating in International level, World Skills Competition-2019 in Kazan (Russia). The Competitors from Haryana had passed three stages to reach this National Level Competition. First stage was Zonal Level Competition which was successfully concluded from March 14 to 16, 2018. In this Zonal Level Competition total 809 candidates had applied for the Competition, out of which 388 candidates appeared at various Zonal ITIs in Haryana. A total of 121 candidates won this Competition.
He said that the winners of Zonal Skills Competition and selected youth (who have scored more than 50 per cent marks in Zonal Competition) participated in State Level Competition held from April 26 to 28, 2018 at GITI, Gurugram and some other places of Gurugram. There were a total of 202 participants in 19 skills who have participated in the State Skills Competition. A total of 39 participants came out as State Skills Competition winners in 19 competing segments i.e. Automobile Technology, Mechatronics, Restaurant Service, Cooking, Web Designing & Technology etc. The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Mr Vipul Goel felicitated the State winners, who had qualified for Regional Skills Competition with the amount of Rs. 50,000 for First Prize winner and Rs. 25,000 for Second Prize.He said that the Zonal, State and Regional winners were provided with rigorous trainings of over 37,000 hours with different reputed institutes like Maruti Suzuki, NASCOM, SSC, IHM, Pusa, Festo, Samsung,Toyota,Emtech, SVSU and others. Mr. Vinod Kumar from Haryana also represented India in Euro Skills by exemplifying creativity and precision in Plumbing and Heating Skill.The focused skilling and opportunity to learn new techniques has helped the participants to achieve bigger heights in the finals, he added.
