Deputy Commissioners of Himachal visits Gurukul Kurukshetra Agriculture Farm

Deputy Commissioners of Himachal Pradesh, Chancellor of Universities today visited Gurukul Kurukshetra and watched crops of Krishi Farm and understood the concept of Zero Budget Natural farming system.  Deputy Commissioners jointly visited the farm in Gurukul Kurukshetra today. This is the first time that Deputy Commissioners of the state have jointly visited outside the state to know the technique of any model. In the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat, these Deputy Commissioners closely monitored natural farming practice and saw this practically implemented in 180 acres of farm.  Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of Himachal Pradesh excluding Kullu and Lahul-Spiti visited the entire Gurukul farm along with Governor Acharya Devvrat on foot and saw that whatever Acharya Devvrat said about his farming farm has actually been  implemented here. In fact, Gurukul's agricultural farm is an outstanding example of zero budget natural farming. Deputy Commissioners said that they will try to implement the Zero budget natural farming model wherever possible.

Acharya Devvrat said that zero budget natural farming is the only option which can make the farmers of the country not only financially viable, but also can be an ideal for global warming. He said that Zero budget is being adopted by large number of farmers in the country, and very soon the Zero budget will be adopted by the entire country.  The officers observed the crops of sugarcane, paddy and vegetables in the Gurukul farm. Prior to this, all the guests visited various projects of Gurukul and enjoyed the performance of Mahakhambha Yoga by Gurukul Brahmacharis.Acharya Debavratt said that today the chemical farming has ruined the farmers. This not only results in economic loss but also with the use of urea and pesticides DAP is devastating the fertility of soil. He said that the excessive use of chemicals is also affecting financial condition of farmers. Natural farming is the only solution for the farmers to improve their economy and social status. He said that practitioners of natural farming will be given training in Palampur of Kangra district. In this training camp, Padmashree Dr. Subhash Palekar will talk about the nuances of natural farming. After this a training camp will be organized in Shimla. He said that a plan to grant subsidy on the purchase of Indian breed's cow is also proposed.Social Justice and Empowerment minister, Dr. Rajeev Saizal, Chief of Gurukul, Kulwant Singh Saini, world renowned wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogats father, Guru Dronacharya Award winner Mahavir Phogat, Principal Colonel Arun Datta, Chief of Haryana Yuva Shakti Sena Sampoorn Singh Singha and large number agricultural expert were present on this occasion.
