SEC orders re polling on 53 booths of eight districts

After the reports of wrongdoings in some polling booths of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis, The State Election Commission, Punjab has ordered re polling on 53 polling booths of eight districts. Voters will recast their votes on September 21 in these polling stations from 8 am to 4 pm.Spokesperson of the commission said that it includes 36 Polling booths of Sri Mukatsar Sahib, 8 polling booths of Amritsar, one booth each of Moga, Fazilka and Faridkot Districts and two booths each of Patiala and Bathinda and Ludhiana, where re polling has been ordered.He said that commission announced re polling on Booth No.42 Village Gaggo Mahal (P.S. Ajnala), Booth No. 56, & 57 of Kot Khaira, Booth No. 89 of Rasulpur Khurad and 129 of Kartar Singh Nagar, Booth No.5 of Bulara, 97 of  Saran and 101 of Singhpura of district Amritsar. He further said that voters of booth no 126, Govt. Primary School, Nawa Rode of Moga, Booth No.29 Village Chak Arni Wala (Govt.Elementary school, Right side) of Fazilka, Booth No.131 of Village Bakhshiwala and Booth No. 39 of Village Khuda of Patiala, Booth No.34 of Village Dabrikhana of Faridkot, Booth No. 17 of Village Dayalpura Mirja and Booth No.46 of Village Rattangarh Kanakwal of district Bathinda, booth No. 222 and 223 of Village Dholanwal of Ludhiana will recast their votes on Friday.Spokesperson said that re polling has also been ordered on Booth No.74 , 75 & 76 of Sangudhon, Booth No.173 & 174 of Chak Madrasa, Booth No.14, 15 & 16 of Lakhewali, Booth No.17, 18 & 19 of Village Midda, Booth No.104 & 105 of Village Bhagwanpura, Booth No. 67, 68  & 69 of Danewala, Booth No.31 & 32 of Village Aspal, Booth No.74 & 75 of Village Babania, Booth No.82, 83 and 84 of  Village Piuri, Booth No.62 of Village Tharajwala, Booth No.30 of Village Giljewala, Booth No. 4 of Village Kangan Khera, Booth No.49 of Village Mandi Kiliyanwali, Booth No.69 & 70 of Village Bhitiwala, Booth No.86 of Village Mehna, Booth No.104, 105 & 106 of Village Mann, Booth No.121 of Village Bhagu, Booth No.123 & 124 of Village Lal Bai of district Sri Mukatsar Sahib.He said that counting of votes will begin at 8:00 am on September 22, 2018.
