PCCF chairs meeting regarding handing over of markings to SFC

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Suresh Chugh, today took a detailed joint meeting of Territorial Forest and J&K State Forest Corporation regarding handing over of markings to SFC for the year 2018-19.The Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir Farooq Gillani informed that the yearly markings handed over to SFC have been to the tune of 35.00 Lac Cft. However, during the year 2017-18 volume of 46.33 Lac Cft was handed over as the SFC had to cater the timber requirement to Forest Sale Depots now handed over to SFC. He further informed that till date about 20.00 Lac Cft of markings have been handed over to SFC since April 2018 and further about 11.00 Lac Cfts are in different stages of technical clearance with Conservator of Forests, Working Plan and under process of according administrative approval. In addition to this the joint enumeration has been conducted by the DFOs with their counterparts from SFC for further volume to the extent of 8.00 Lac Cft which shall be available to the SFC during the current year.The PCCF emphasized for expediting the process of conducting of markings as the target set as per Q&Q norms for volume to be handed over to SFC is 80.00 Lac Cft for both the regions. He further directed that since there is less marking available in Jammu Region therefore, a target of 50.00 Lac Cft was fixed to be achieved during the current year from Kashmir Region. The DFOs gave compartment wise details of their respective Divisions about availability of fallen and dry standing trees that can be handed over to SFC during the coming days. The meeting was, among others, attended by Chief Conservator of Forests, Central Vasu Yadav, Chief General Managers of SFC, all Conservators and DFOs of the valley.
