The state would consider the demand of bringing the Gramin Vidya Upasak (Regular JBT) Teacher Category appointed in the year 2002 under the  Old Pension Scheme, in addition the state government would take up the matter for refunding Rs 5000 deposited by them with National Institute of Open School. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the State Level Conference of Himachal Pradesh Gramin Vidya Upasak (Regular JBT) Teachers Association here today.Chief Minister said that the state today has emerged as a front runner state in the field of education. He said that the credit of this also goes to the teachers of the State, who were imparting education to the students in far flung areas of the state. He said that it was unfortunate that previous government went for unmindful opening of education institutions without any budget provisions and planning. Some of these institutions were merely announced with an eye on election, he added.Jai Ram Thakur said that Atal Adarsh Vidya Kendra would be opened in the state with hostel facilities for imparting quality education to the students. He said that a separate transfer policy would also be framed for the teachers appointed in these institutions. He said that Medha Protsahan Yojana has been launched in the state for providing coaching to the Students for various competitive examinations such as NEET, IIT and Civil Services. He said that a provision of Rs 5 crore has been made for this. 

Jai Ram Thakur said that there were so many categories of teachers in the state which needs to be rationalised as the role of all these teachers was to impart education to the students. He said that the State Government would ensure that all the genuine demands of the teachers were redressed at the earliest. He said that education was the field where foundation stone of development of any action was laid. He said that it was vital that the students hold their teacher in high esteem and have special regard for them, for which teacher’s conduct should be exemplary and ideal for the students.Chief Minister said that nursery classes would be started in 3391 schools of the State, so that parents could be motivated to admit their child in Government schools.  He said that all the vacant posts of C&V and PTA would be filled on priority. He said that efforts would also be made to redress genuine demands of PAT and PTA teachers. He also stressed on maintaining cordial relations with the teachers.A cheque of Rs 25 lakh was also presented to the Chief Minister by the Association on the occasion towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the Gramin Vidya Upasak was doing commendable service by imparting quality education to the students in remote areas of the State.

He said that the State Government was committed to provide quality education to the students, especially those in rural areas of the state.He said that school education was the very base for future development of the individual, thus the role of school teachers was even more important for building a strong, educated and vibrant society. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur the state was fast marching ahead on the path of progress and prosperity. He said that the Himachal Pradesh was emerging as education hub of the country.State President of Himachal Pradesh Gramin Vidya Upasak (Regular JBT) Association Hem Ram Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that the Gramin Vidya Upasaks were appointed in the year 2002 by the then BJP Government of the State and since then they have been providing education to the students in far flung areas of the State. He thanked the Chief Minister for being considerate towards various demands of the employees in general and of teachers in particular. He also detailed various demands of the Association.Rajan Chauhan presented vote of thanks.MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal, APMC Shimla-Kinnaur Chairman Naresh Sharma, Secretary Education Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Director Elementary Education Rohit Jamwal, General Secretary of the Association Yash Pal were present on the occasion among others.
