A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party led by MLC Sofi Yusuf, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today. The delegation apprised Governor about various issues of public importance and discussed with him their perception relating to pace of flood management works in the State, development benefits that can accrue from establishing self governing institutes at grass root level, provision of good roads, uninterrupted power supply, strengthening public grievance redressal mechanism at District, Division and State level, expediting work on AIIMS in Jammu etc. They also demanded constitution of Gujjar and Bakerwal Regiment in the Army to provide employment opportunities to brave people  belonging to these two tribes.Governor assured the delegation to give due consideration to their demands and observed that he has already issued instructions to PDD for augmenting its power distribution and transmission system  so  that uninterrupted power supply  could be given to people particularly during festivals and during time when students prepare for examinations.
