Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, today chaired meeting of District road safety committee to discuss road safety measures.The meeting was attended by ADC Basharat Hussian , DySP Bisham Dubey, CMO Mumtaz Bhatti, OC 79 RCC ,CEO Poonch, ARTO Poonch, XEns of PWD,Mugal Road, PMGSY Poonch and PMGSY Mendhar ,DTI Poonch, and other members of district road safety committee.Threadbare discussion was held on road safety, improvement of road markings, identification of blind spots on different routes, construction of Crash barriers, regulations of public and school buses, and such alike.As per the directions of the government, the DC constituted a team comprising Tehsildar, SHO and AEE/JE for safety Audit of various major roads and identify vulnerable and accident prone spots in the district.The DC directed CEO to regulate school buses of private schools and provide their list to traffic Police.Yadav instructed Police and traffic department to work hand in hand for strict checking of traffic rules violation.The DC directed the concerned officers for strict implementation of fitness certificate norms. He also directed to educate people to avoid over speeding and regulate the over speeding public vehicles by installing Speed governor device. He further instructed that fire extinguishers and first Aid box should be present in public vehicles.
