Member of Parliament Nazir Ahmad Laway, who is also Co-chairman of District Development, Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) Anantnag, today chaired a meeting to review the progress achieved under various centrally-sponsored schemes in the district.District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik informed the meeting about the achievements made under various centrally sponsored schemes.He said that under NRLM, 2896 SHGs having more than 25000 members have been established in the district in the sectors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep, Animal Husbandry, Embroidery, Barber and small shops.Under PMAY against a total target of 2991 households, the registration process of 2225 beneficiaries have been completed and 285 residential houses were completed. Fund to the tune of Rs 1205.50 lakh has been disbursed among the beneficiaries as 1st, 2nd and 3rd instalments.Whereas, under AMRUT many projects including 62 KLD Septage Treatment Plant at Uran Hall and Sewerage Treatment Plan 04 MLD costing Rs 40crore are under execution and Rs 15.38 crore Multilevel Car Parking Project at Junglat mandi Anantnag is also under execution.Three dewatering pump stations at Ashajipora, Ganjiwara and Batangoo are being constructed for which an allocation of Rs 1 crore has been sanctioned, the meeting was told.On the occasion, Laway hailed the efforts of district administration for creating durable assets under centrally-sponsored schemes particularly under MGNREGA.He directed the Horticulture Department authorities to mobilize the field functionaries to keep a check on the sale of sub-standard pesticides and fungicidesThe meeting, among others, was attended by ADDC, ADC, all District officers, Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B, Irrigation and Flood Control.
