Arrangements for ensuing annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (R.A.) Pakherpora commencing from August 23 to August 31, 2018 were finalized in a meeting convened under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai.The meeting was also attended by SDM Chadoora Aziz Ahmad Rather besides concerned officers from all other required departments including Police, Health,PHE, R&b, PDD, FCS&CA, ARTO Budgam/Pulwama, MC Chareshareef and YDA. The Chairman and members of Auqaf Committee accompanied by president shopkeepers union also attended the meeting.Briefing the meeting about the decisions taken with regard to arrangements, the ADDC said that FCS&CA Department has been directed to ensure sufficient supply of ration including gas, kerosene and sugar which shall remain available for consumers during the Urs days. Simultaneously the PDD has been asked to provide round the clock power supply to the town and in case of any urgency the generators shall be kept available. ADDC directed ARTO Budgam to provide hassle free transport facility to the visiting devotees especially buses shall be made available from Pulwama and Shopian. He said in order to check illegal profiteering, hoarding and black marketing in the market during Urs days, a special squad headed by concerned Tehildar will keep close watch and make surprise checks of the market during these days.Accordingly, PHE Department has been directed that apart from uninterrupted water supply, mobile tankers must be kept ready to avoid any exigency. Block Medical Officer Pakherpora informed that 3 medical camps will be setup during Urs days. Similarly R&B Department was directed to make necessary repairments of the road approaching to the shrine if required.To ensure clean atmosphere during Urs days, ADDC impressed upon the Executive Officer Municipal Committee Charisharief to keep premises clean and garbage free.
