The three-days Pharmacy Council of India, N. Delhi sponsored Continuing Education Program (CEP) for Pharmacy Teachers organized by ASBASJSM College of Pharmacy, BELA on the title “Challenges of Pharmaceutical Education, Teaching & Research: Role of Teachers”. This CEP was organized with a motto to empower trainers who are sculpting the pharmacists of tomorrow. CEP was strategically designed as workshop giving the educators an exposure to the latest advancements in different areas of pharmaceutical technology deriving the pharma industry.The program was inaugurated on 16th August, 2018. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chief Guest Prof. Milind Parle, Management and Director of College & Staff Members. Dr. Milind Parle expressed his hope that the participant teachers, in the next three days, would immensely benefit from the lectures delivered by Subject Experts of different disciplines. Around 30 pharmacy teachers participants from various institutes of Punjab and nearby states like Rajasthan, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh were attend the CEP.On the first day resource person Dr. Milind Parle, Prof. BS Bhoop, Prof. Arun Nanda & Prof. Monica Gulati share their experience with the participants.
Different aspects of lectures like utilization of resources, use of technology and information sharing, planning and decision making, plagiarism, examination analysis were comprehensively discussed.On the day two Resource persons were provide technical knowledge of newly added course in PCI prescribed syllabus. Prof. Gurpreet Kaur, Prof. Ajay Prakash, Dr. Rahul Taneja and Prof. YS Tanwar deliberate their knowledge with teacher participants.On last day Prof. SK Dhameja and Prof. PK Singla from NITTTR Chandigarh share their views on effective teaching and learning process in classroom and also how to develop entrepreneurial skills in the students. In the second session of the day Dr. Sanyog Jain and Prof. RK Goel provides new current findings in the pharmaceutical research areas. The session was a captivating one as it was relevant to one and all.The sessions ended with a Thank You Note delivered by Director of Institute Prof. Shailesh Sharma, speaking in the valedictory of the program, provides information regarding latest and modern teaching technologies to the participant faculty members. He said that “To excel is the real challenge”, Excellency involves will power, devotion, professionalism, resilience integrity, assiduity, and even ambition. It demands one’s lifelong commitment or even endeavors of generations. In the realm of pharmacy in India, to excel requires concentrated efforts all the pharmacy teachers. In the last he expresses his sincere thanks to Pharmacy council of India for sponsoring the Program. He said in future COP-BELA also provides platform for the development of faculty members and upliftment of pharmacy profession.
