The all J&K Accounts Employees Association on Thursday went on indefinite strike to press their demands, termed as “illogical” and “asking for moon” by government. The government also cautioned the employees against strike and announced to deal with them with “whatever tools” are available with it.Reports reaching Global News Service (GNS) that the J&K accounts employees association started an indefinite strike demanding among other things de-linking of KAS from accounts service, restoration of pay parity, and cadre review. The association also alleged that their leaders were victimized by putting the under suspension. “On the one hand, the government is serially meeting the demands of various categories but at the same time they are turning back towards our established issues,” the association leaders said. The Civil Secretariat Employees Union (CSEU) has distanced itself from the strike and called it unnecessary. “The public will bear brunt of this strike. The issue should have been taken up with the government before taking this step,” CSEU President Ghulam Rasool Mir told GNS.Principal Secretary Finance, Navin Choudhary told Global News Service (GNS) that the demands raised by the employees have already been met.“Their demand is illogical. They have been already provided everything. They were first to get pay up- gradation, the cadre review has already been done and there is no issues regarding their seniority or pay anomaly. They are asking for moon.”Asked what will be the response by the government, the officer said: “We will deal with whatever tools are available with us.” (GNS)
