In its drive against vector-borne diseases under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ in the district, the anti-larva cell of the Health Department spotted 22 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Monday.Six teams led by Mr Sanjiv Kumar, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Balwinder Singh, Mr Sarbjeet, Mr. Bakhshish Singh and Mr Gurpal Singh carried out the checking at Kabir Nagar, Khurla Kingra, Basti Bawa Khel, Abadpura, ESI hospital and Guru Gobind Singh Stadium.During the checking, the team members found 17 cases in Kabir Nagar and five in Basti Bawa Khel. The team also issued three challans in Kabir Nagar.The teams covered a population of 1281, checked 116 air coolers and 104 containers. They also carried out spray in 205 rooms of these localities. The team also distributed 1000 chlorine tablets.The team members also talked with the people during the drive and apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
