Director Agriculture Jammu Hari Krishan Razdan, accompanied by Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Jammu R. L. Bhagat visited the farmers’ fields at Talwara, Marhi, Baggha, Painthal, Katra and Nomian to monitor the progress of various Farmers’ welfare schemes and interacted with farmers to get the firsthand information regarding requirements and problems of the farmers.During the review meeting of the officers and field functionaries of Reasi District, Director Agriculture impressed upon the staff to make all out efforts to introduce different technological interventions and adoption of Improved Agricultural Practices for the cultivation of various crops.He directed the field functionaries to reach out to the farmers’ field to make them fully aware for various farmers’ welfare schemes like Soil Health Card Scheme (SCHS), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFSBY), Kissan Credit Card Scheme (KCCS), National Mission on Agriculture Extension & Technology (NMAET-ATMA), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) etc.He asked them to keep them updated with the latest guidelines and norms of various programmes. Director also stressed on the staff to work for the exploitation of potential for the cultivation pulses and asked them to work for removing the constraints in pulse cultivation. 

He directed the staff to maintain the punctuality as per Aadhar Based Attendance System and to submit the weekly tour notes and work done reports to the higher ups.Interacting with the farmers at various places Director Agriculture stressed on for diversification their farming through vegetable cultivation, apiculture, mushroom growing and to re-orient their cropping scheme to produce cash crops and local specialties as per demand of the market. He asked the farmers to go for the cultivation of pulses with the use of latest technological interventions to increase the production and raise their economic condition. He advised the farmers to make Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to avail the benefits of Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) and Crop Insurance Scheme.The meeting was attended O. S. Choudhary, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Agriculture Officer (Extension) Dharmari Arvind Baru, SMS (DL) Ravinder Gupta, ASCO Ashok Kohli, DPD (ATMA) S. L. Thussu, SDAO Reasi Rajesh Verma, Rakesh Sharma SMS (SDL), Anil Koul SDAO Dharmari, Alok Pandotra, SMS (SDL), Deepak Singh SMS (SDL), Neeraj Rajwal SMS (SDL), SCAs, AEOs, JAEOs and AEAs of the area.
