Under the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s ambitious program ‘Connect with Your Roots’, first group of 14-youngsters from England, who are on 10-day tour to Punjab, on Friday paid obeisance at Takhat Sri Keshgarh Sahib and visited Virasat-e-Khalsa.The group led by its coordinator and officials of Punjab Government took a round of galleries and museum in Virasat-e-Khalsa to acquaint themselves with the cultural, heritage, religious and historic significance of Punjab. An impressive cultural program was also organised at Virasat-e-Khalsa.The members of visiting group said that it was memorable moments for them as they were visiting their ancestral land.They also thanked the Punjab Government for introducing this unique initiative of CYR for Punjabi youth of Indian origin settled in different countries to apprise them about the rich culture and glorious heritage of Punjab.Accompanied by the visiting group Principal Secretary NRI Affairs SR Ladhar informed that the Connect with Your Roots programme was launched by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh from London (UK) in September, 2017 to provide a platform to youth to visit Punjab.Program coordinator Varinder Singh Khera said that the group would visit prominent places at Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana in coming days.
