14th Finance Commission issues Rs. 181 crore to PRI's

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar told here today that Rs. 181 Crore had been issued as first instalment for the Panchayati Raj Institutions of Himachal Pradesh under 14th Finance Commission by the Union Government.Panchayati Raj Minister said that the department will soon issue the amount to all the 3226 Gram Panchayats. The amount will be allotted to the Panchayats as per 90 percent population and on the basis of 10 percent geographical area. He said that after utilization of this amount Union Government will issue equal amount as second instalment, as per 14th Finance Commission and total Rs. 362.00 crore will be issued to the panchayats of State during this fiscal.Virender Kanwar said that the Central Government have made it mandatory that the Panchayat receiving this amount should have their bank account registered with Public Fund Management System (PFMS). He said that all the Panchayats have already been directed to register their bank accounts under PFMS and till now 2550 Panchayats have registered their bank accounts.Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister has directed all the Pradhans and Secretaries of remaining Panchayats to register their bank accounts under PFMS within three days immediately otherwise the amount will not be issued to them.
