District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today held a public grievance redressal camp at Batote.SSP Mohan Lal, ADDC Ravinder Sadhu, CPO Uttam Singh, Tehsildar Batote Srinath Suman, Executive Engineers PWD, PDD, REW, PMGSY, PWD, CMO, CEO, CAHO, CHO, CAO, DFO, DSWO, ALC, AD CAPD, BDO, Naib Tehsildar Batote along with local populace attended the camp.During the camp, people highlighted their demands including Payment under MGNREGA, Bridge at Gami, opening of NTPHC at Sanasar, completion of PMGSY roads from Nashri to Sanasar and Chakwa road, permission for running convent school Ladhlwal, land for dumping of garbage, compensation of various roads, opening of Degree, Polytechnic and ITI college at Batote, Exemption of toll tax for KV school students, shortage of staff in hospital and education institutions , water supply scheme for Dhamtal, upgradation of middle school Thopal, construction of View points at Batote , extension of Boombari road to Sanasar, Ration card related issues, Solid waste management plant, completion of Sabzi Mandi, employment for local youth in projects, pension for widow and old age people, repairing of hand pumps, functioning of surveillance cameras.
Responding to demands and other issues raised by people, DDC sanctioned 5 lakhs for the maintenance of city forest park Batote and 5 lakhs for maintenance of lanes and drainage system. He also passed directions to the concerned to speed up the construction work of ongoing roads and directed SFC to ensure adequate stock of fire wood and timber. He directed CMO to ensure health care facilities in all health institutions of the area besides providing accommodation to establish drug de-addiction centre and work with police department and NGO “Technyme for All” for rehabilitation of youth.He also sanctioned solar lights one each for Temple, Gurdwara and Mosque whereas forest and social forestry department was directed to launch a plantation drive along the highway for the beautification of the area. He directed JKTDC and Tourism department to intensify tourism activities to develop Batote as a tourism hub.
He informed that district administration has formulated a master plan for overall development of Batote town. ACD was directed to ensure due payments of workers and beneficiaries under MGNREGA and other schemes. He asked the forest department to maintain public paths existing in forest area for the convenience of people. He also directed the concerned authorities to gearup the process of land acquisition to start construction work of KV School.SSP Ramban assured that the department is on job to curb the menace of drugs and rehabilitate the youth by providing them drugs de-addiction centre facilities. He also said that the police department will also upgrade the gym at Batote which was established by the police department.DDC ordered for on spot redressal of most of highlighted problems and passed necessary instructions to the district officers for resolving all the raised issues. He directed the officers to pay regular visits in all remote areas to ensure better delivery of services.
