Students protest dearth of public transport in Kangan

The students of various schools in Kangan on Wednesday staged a protest against dearth of public transport facility in the area.The protesting students gathered on a road at Kangan Ganderbal, blocking it for vehicular traffic. Potesting students said they were facing immense  hardships due to non-availability of transport facility.They  said that the students have no proper transport facility in the area. They said students  travelled miles daily to and fro for schooling which also waste their precious time.Amid slogans the students were demanding regular and timely transportation facilities. The protesting students alleged that due to non-availability of  transport facility they get late to their school every day.The students blocked the busy Srinagar-Leh highway at Sumbal Bala gund to demand regular and timely transportation facilities. Later, the protesting  students dispersed off peacefully after police officials assured them to raise their grievance before the concerned authorities. (PTK)
