The Technical Education Minister, Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi has thanked the Chief Minister for restoring the reservation in promotions for the SC category employees in the government sector and said that with this step the Chief Minister has taken a big decision in favour of the SC employees.In a statement here today, Mr. Channi said that the previous governments always meted out step motherly treatment to the SC employees but the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh taking the initiative has given a big relief to the SC employees of the government sector by restoring the 14 percent reservation quota in promotions of group ‘A’ and ‘B’ services and 20 percent quota in group ‘D’ services.Mr. Channi also said that the congress has always protected the interests of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society and ensured that they got their due rights but the other political parties have indulged in the vote bank politics in the name of the SC category people.Thanking the Chief Minister once again, Mr. Channi said that the congress government would fully protect the interests of the SC category people and ensure that they get their just rights.
