Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Saturday convened a meeting to review the progress of Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in government offices across the district. The DC directed all departmental directorates in the district to immediately register their attendance portals and create locations of all their offices under their heads. He also directed all heads of departments to immediately submit details of Aadhaar-registered employees and instructed them to ensure that all the remaining are immediately Aadhaar-registered.Pertinently, the new system of attendance in offices involves linking employee Aadhaar details with their attendance. This linkage has been seen to facilitate the strengthening of the attendance system and punctuality in offices.Dr Shah said registration of all employees in the attendance portal is mandatory, adding that concerns such as the attendance of employees working in fields will be looked into during the implementation process. He said the strictest possible action will be taken against the non-adherents.The meeting was attended by attended by all district, sectoral and block officers of the district among others concerned.
