The staff training institution of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank at Jalandhar has been awarded the National Honour by the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks, Mumbai for rendering exceptional services. The award was received at Mumbai by the Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation cum Chairman Punjab State Cooperative Bank Mr. D.P. Reddy, MD Dr. S.K. Batish and Principal of the training institute Dr. S.S. Brar.
The Cooperation Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has congratulated the officers and the personnel of the institution for this prestigious honour. He further termed the cooperative bank as the backbone of the farmers of Punjab and also said that the training institution has played a leading role in making the cooperative movement reach every nook and corner of the state by imparting training through novel methods to the officers, personnel and other people connected with the sector.It is worth mentioning that the `Agricultural Cooperative Staff Training Institute’ was established in 1986 at Jalandhar and trains the officers and personnel of the bank, employees of the primary agricultural branches, chosen representatives of the managing committee and also the employees as well as officers of the Cooperation Department in keeping with the latest trends.
