In order to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances, a daylong public grievance redressal camp was today organised at Dangerpora Sopore under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash.The camp received an overwhelming participation of people from the adjoining areas.Director Planning AG Malik, ADC Sopore Ashiq Hussain Lilly, SSP Sopore Javed Iqbal, ACR Baramulla Bashir Ahmad Bhat and various other District and Sectoral officers were present on the occasion.On the occasion, people raised the issues pertaining to different sectors including revenue, health services, electricity, rural development, education, water supply, traffic management, repair of roads, adequate, irrigation and other basic facilities. The people demanded land settlement be done immediately adding that Zaingeer area has been left unsettled from past several years. They also demanded the opening of JK Bank branches in various villages, allocation of funds for constructing household toilets under SBM, upgradation of basic infrastructure in educational institutions, macadamization of roads and other grievances of public importance. Meanwhile, the DDC had a patient hearing of the grievances and on the spot issued directions to the concerned for their redressal.
While assuring for the timely redressal of the grievances, the DDC said that all the issues shall be taken with the concerned within the shortest possible time.Regarding the Land Settlement issue of Zaingeer area, the DDC said that the project of settlement has been taken by private agencies throughout the state and they will execute it shortly. He also said that the JK Bank branches will be established after consultation with the respective institution for checking out the feasibility. DDC also directs the RDD to issue the pending payments of the beneficiaries under the SBM besides urging upon people who had not so far constructed the household toilets to construct the same adding that sufficient funds have been facilitated for the purpose.The DDC on the occasion stressed upon the officers to provide every basic facility to the people adding that District administration is committed to provide every facility to the people of the district. DDC said that government has lunched various schemes and programmes for the people and they should come forward and avail the benefits of the developmental programme and schemes. The DDC assured the people of the area that their problems will be solved at an earliest.
