To accomplish the task of providing the upgraded medical facilities to the people of Punjab "Under Mission Tandarust Punjab" State Government is providing the medical facilities near the residence of people living in villages and slums with the help of Mobile Medical Unit. Moreover under this scheme the medical assistance is also given at Brick kilns. Giving the detail about this, Dr. Reeta Bhardwaj, Civil Surgeon Mohali said that 12834 patients have been examined. With the help of this unit facilities like Free Medicine, E.C.G., Lab Tests etc. are also provided.She told that total number of people who got the facilities of E.C.G., X Ray and Lab Tests in this Mobile Medical Unit were 3055, which includes 150 for E.C.G., 400 for X-Ray and 2505 for Lab Tests. Civil Surgeon said that this Scheme is playing a vital role in providing the Medical facilities to the people living in remote and faraway places of the district. It is a big relief for the old age people, children and for those who face difficulties to reach the hospitals. Dr. Bhardwaj told that free of cost medicine is also provided to the needy. The staff members of this unit work from 9 AM to 3 Pm in villages, Slums and at Brick kilns excluding Sundays and all gazetted holidays. She appealed to people that whenever the Mobile Medical Unit arrive in their respective areas they must try to utilize this facility.
