President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today described Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa as a ‘human bomb’ sent by Congress yuvraj Mr. Rahul Gandhi to destroy himself along with entire Punjab Congress by contesting Lok Sabha elections.Addressing a massive rally here in favour of SAD-BJP candidate Mr. Vinod Khanna, Akali President said that Mr. Rahul Gandhi has been forced to opt politics by Congress party thus he had planned to destroy whole party to get rid of it. “Rahul was never willing to join politics but his mother Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and other senior party leaders pulled him into politics. Now, he planned the strategy to demolish the party in one go during these Lok Sabha polls by planting some human bombs in every state. Mr. Bajwa is also one of them”, he added.

Hitting out at Mr. Bajwa, Mr. Badal said that PPCC president had failed to bring even a single development project for the people of the border area from his party led UPA government. He said that it was a matter of record that except being busy in party infighting, Mr. Bajwa never dared to convince his party led UPA government for initiating any project for the betterment of the border area. “ Bajwa is now trying to camouflage the injustice done by Congress led UPA government with border belt of Punjab in specific and Punjab in general by giving misleading statements”, he added.Lambasting the Congress for constant neglect of border areas of Punjab, Mr. Badal said that NDA government led by Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had launched the compensation scheme to compensate the farmers from the border area for the difficulty faced by them in cultivating their land across the wire but this scheme had been discontinued during UPA rule. He said that Congress led UPA Government did not bother to come to the aid of border area farmers despite repeated requests made by SAD-BJP government. He said that even during Home Minister Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde’s visit of the area Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa had lead a delegation of Congress leaders to create confusions instead of creating pressure to meet the demands of the people of border area.

Opening a frontal attack on the reluctant senior Congress Lok Sabha candidates, Mr. Badal said that most of the young leaders from Congress party have either run away from the battle field or left their constituencies and the reluctant senior leaders who were forced to contest were just like antique cannons of British times, which could be used for decoration but not to defend the castle.Making an emotional appeal to the mammoth gathering, Mr. Badal said that time has come to shunt-out the Congress led UPA regime to bring a pro-people and pro-Punjab government at the centre. He said that it was only NDA government that had initiated compensation scheme immediately after then Union Home Minister L.K Advani visited border area to understand the hardships being faced by the farmers.

Mr. Badal said that Punjab would receive maximum benefits once NDA voted to make next government at centre. He said that there were strong ties between NDA’s prime ministerial candidate Mr. Narinder Modi and Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, and Mr. arun Jaitly would also get key ministry in the NDA government. He said that Mr. Vinod Khanna had done his best for the constituency during NDA rule. Mr. Badal said that all these four leaders would multiply the pace of development of Punjab and border area by four times which suffered a lot at the hand of anti Punjab policies of congress party.Earlier, addressing the gathering Mr. Vinod Khanna described the Gurdaspur constituency as his fifth kin. He said that he had tried his best for the development of the area and Gurdaspur would witness sea change within two years of next NDA government. Mr. Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal assured Mr. Badal and Mr. Khanna that alliance would get maximum margin victory from Batala.
