District Development Commissioner Shopian Gazanfar Ali today conducted an extensive tour of the flood-prone areas of the district.The DDC was accompanied by Executive Engineer Flood Control, and other concerned officers, engineers, and other district officers.On the occasion, DDC passed on spot directions to the concerned to construct culvert at Hirpora. He called for close coordination between the departments and other agencies to safeguard the precious lives and property.The DDC pressed for making a list of vulnerable flood-prone areas, location of related infrastructure viz dozers, sandbags, boats, divers, swimmers, vehicles, dewatering pumps besides telephone numbers of in-charge of related department and agencies.He also called for close coordination between the departments to ensure timely rescue and rehabilitation. Municipalities were directed to ensure clearance of all drains well in advance in the town to avoid any water blockage due to rains.
