A deputation of Northern India Taxi/ Maxi Cab operators and Luxury Bus Operators Union called on the Transport Minister Govind Singh Thakur here today.The deputation apprised the Transport Minister about the problems of Taxi/ Maxi Cab operators and Luxury Bus Operators  due to increase in the proposed composite  fee by the recent cabinet  meeting on tourist vehicles of the other states.Transport Minister told the delegation that the rate of composite fee in Himachal Pradesh had not been incresed since 2010 and now it is proposed to be increase as per the rates prevailing in other neighboring State and also with the aim to making them rational.Various other issues were also discussed during the meeting. Transport Minister assured the delegation for sympathetic consideration of their genuine demands.He said that suggestion and objections will be invited within 30 days before issuing the final notification of the proposed rates. He also assured the delegation that the old rates will be applicable till the consideration of proposed composite fees.Principal Secretary Transport Shri J.C. Sharma, Director Transport Shri B.C. Badalia and the president of various Taxi Operator Union from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh were present on the occasion.
