A family from Southern Kashmir on Saturday staged protest demanding that body of Zahid Rashid Bhat who was one among three militants killed in Machil Sector should be handed over to them. The family and relatives of Zahid Rashid Bhat assembled here in Press Enclave saying that civil and police administration Kupwara are reluctant to exhume the body of their son and hand over the same to them. “Even the police officials agreed that the slain militant is my son after looking at the photographs but yet they are not allowing us to take the body.

Both the civil and police administration are passing bucks,” said Abdul Rashid the father of the slain militant.“Zahid was just 14 when he had gone missing. On June 8 we came to know through social media that he has been killed in an encounter with Army in Machil Sector. We have been wandering from pillar to post to take the possession of his body, but alas! the district police administration is not listening anything,” the family members from Brehard Kathpora Kulgam said.
