CM releases books on revenue and law procedure

Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister released three books on revenue law and procedure (titled ‘Revenue Code, Vol-I, II and III) authored by Shri I.S. Chandel, IAS (retired) here, last evening. Chief Minister congratulated Shri Chandel for this endeavour and expressed hope that these volumes on revenue law and procedure would prove very handy, especially to the professional. Shri I.S Chandel has served the State Government under various capacities and has vast experience on revenue and law procedure. He served in the revenue department for about 34 years and compiled two government publications- ‘H.P Land Code’ and ‘H.P Land Records Manual’, which proved instrumental in introducing new concepts like computerization of land records and also increased efficiency among revenue functionaries of the State. The Revenue Code Volume-I interpret on Himachal Pradesh Land Revenue Act, 1954 as amended up to 31st August, 2012. It contains summary, commentary notes, government notifications, instructions, succession laws, Muslim law and customary law etc. The second volume is a comprehensive commentary on the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reform Act, 1972 and H.P. Land Laws as amended up to 31st August, 2012. Revenue Code, Volume-III has been specially compiled for law students which contain HP Land Revenue Act and HP local laws.
