Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today reviewed water supply situation for Shimla city with senior officers through video conferencing from Chamba. Officers detailed Chief Minister about the situation and the distribution of water supply in Shimla city.Officials apprised him that today MC Shimla has received 22.63 MLD water and the Corporation has also received 1 MLD of water from Ghandal which was distributed according to the  time table issued yesterday  to Krishna nagar, Ram Bazzar, Lower Bazzar, Jakhu, Benmore, Engine Ghar, Sanjauli chowk, Dhalli and Mashobra, Bhattakufar and Shanti Vihar, Malyana and Sangti areas. Apart from this, water supply through tankers has been ensured in hospitals, educational institutions and public toilets as per demand.Chief Minister was apprised that water would be supplied to Kusumpti, Pantha Ghatti, Chhota Shimla, Vikasnagar, Patiyog, Kangnadhar, New Shimla, Khalini and peripheral areas on Friday.

It was informed that water would be supplied to Gumma pumping station from Sunni through tankers which would be provided to Shimla after treatment. He said that a submersible pump would be set up between Nauti Khad and Gumma which would ensure 5 MLD water supply. He said that place has been identified for installing bore well between Giri and Deha and work has been started. He said that the areas where water was not distributed yesterday according to the issued scheduled had been provided water through tankers today.IPH Minister Mahender Singh Thakur visited Giri pumping station and issued directions to officers for ensuring proper water supply. He said that with the installation bore well in Giri Khad better water supply would be ensured.Chief Minister directed the officers that places where water could not be  provided according to schedule should be ensured water supply so that people do not face in convenience.Chief Secretary Shri Vineet Chawdhry, Secretary IPH Shri Devesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Shri Amit Kashyap, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Shimla Shri Rohit Jamwal and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
