The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday demanded a special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha on the issue of polluted waters in the water sources of state. Hundreds of AAP workers under the leadership of AAP Co-President Dr. Balbir Singh and MP Prof. Sadhu Singh carrying polluted water assembled at Punjab MLA hostel and marched towards CM house were stopped by the police on their way. The volunteers then raised slogans against Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress govt. for shielding those responsible for polluting the waters of Punjab.AAP leaders including co-president Dr. Balbir Singh, MP Prof, Sadhu Singh, MLA Jai KIshan Singh Rodi, Secretary Jagtar Singh Sanghera, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Gurdit Singh Sekhon, Dalbir Singh Dhillon, Anil Thakur (All Zone Presidents), Youth wing president Manjinder Singh Sidhu, organizational in charge Garry Birring, Sukhwinder Sukhi, Aman Mohi, Dev Mann, Narinder Singh Shergill, Gian Singh Mungo, Tajinder Mehta, Karanvir Tiwana, Balwinder Singh Chaunda, Jagtar Singh Rajla, Narinder Singh Notty Sarpanch, Daljeet Singh Grewal, Adv. Kuljinder Dhindsa, Jastej Arora, Govinder Mittal, Dilawar Singh, Satbir Walia, Sukhjinder Singh Kauni, Manu Sharma, Tejpal Gill, Harman Hundal and others were arrested by the police.
The OSD to Capt. Amarinder Singh Capt. Sandeep Sandhu reached the police station and informed that the CM is not available today and promised to get AAP leaders appointment soon. The leaders handed over the memorandum to the OSD.Dr. Balbir Singh while addressing the media said that the polluted water bottles will be handed over to all the MLAs and MPs of the state so that they can raise the issue in assembly and parliament. He said that AAP stands by the problems being faced by the people of state and will not let them down. He said that the party will continue to raise the issue of public interest inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha.In the morning, AAP leaders including MLA Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, MLA Kultar Singh, Daljeet Singh Bhola Grewal along with other volunteers were present at Budhha Nala situated at village Gauspur of Ludhiana. MLA Amarjeet Singh was also present during the protest.
