A four-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) has begun at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. Organised by department of Computer Science & Engineering, CGC Landran in partnership with IBM, the programme seeks to train the participating faculty on the latest trends in Descriptive Analytics using IBM Cognos. The programme is a part of the institution’s understanding with IBM further to which, the latter would conduct training sessions for the former’s faculty members.The first day of the FDP conducted by Dinesh K Dhiman, BI Architect, IBM, saw participants being introduced to the latest in descriptive analysis, its significance and application in data insights in a rapidly evolving business environment.  Activities of day one included presentations, a question and answer session, case studies and practical exercises.Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran highlighted the important role these sessions played in bridging the gap between industry and academia.
