“The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is fully committed to provide quality services to the people with regard to power sector and it is an article of faith with the PSPCL to keep convenience of public uppermost in mind while framing any policy.”Disclosing this in a statement here today, the CMD, PSPCL Mr. A. Venu Prasad said that the matter regarding the inconvenience faced by the residents of zirakpur owing to power cuts has been brought to his notice via some media reports. He further said that a number of development oriented projects are in the pipeline in Mohali circle to mitigate the problems of the people.He elaborated that the augmentation of 20 MVA power transformer to 31.5 MVA at 66 KV Sub Station Dhakoli in Zirakpur Sub Division would be done soon and the land for commissioning of 66 KV Sub Station at Haripur Kura has been handed over to Chief Engineer/TS. Furthermore, the land for commissioning of 66 KV Sub-Station at Ramgarh Bhuda has also been handed over to Chief Engineer/TS, Stringing and Sagging of 6 KV line from 220 KV Sub-Station Mohali-II (Sector-80) to 66 KV Sub-Station Phase 8B Mohali would be completed soon and so would be the commissioning of new 66 KV Sub-Stations at Baltana and Aero City-I.
The CMD also divulged that Deputy Chief Engineer Mohali has been directed to meet Deputy Commissioner Mohali/EO Nayagaon for acquisition of 2 acres of land required for proposed 66 KV grid at village Nadda near Nayagaon in Mullanpur Sub-Division. The other development centric works in the pipeline include creation of 7 new sub-divisions and upgradation of 2 Sub Offices under South Zone, Creation of new link between 66 KV Dhakoli and 66 KV Bhabat and new link from 66 KV Samgoli to 66 KV Jaula, Augmentation of 20 MVA power transformer to 31.5 MVA at 66 KV Sub Station Bhabat, Creation of customer care centre at zirakpur sub division, shifting of headquarter of AO/TL from Ropar to Mohali, Re-engineering/Improvement of 7 Industrial Feeders (CAT 2) under derabassi sub division, Lalru Sub Division and deployment of adequate manpower in Mohali Circle.
