Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said that the Election Department will web cast the latest polling information of 1000 polling centres on its website on April 10, 2014.  The latest information from all the polling centres in the State would be made available at the department website http://ceoharyana.nic.in. The General elections to ten Parliamentary Constituencies of Haryana are scheduled to be held on April 10.Walgad who was addressing a press conference here today said that the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed a SMS based E-Dashboard Software and Election Result Information System through which the latest information from all the polling centres in the State would be made available at the department website http://ceoharyana.nic.in through a link.

He said that the polling would commence at 7 am on April 10 and would continue till 6 pm. The updating of data would commence after two hours of start of polling, he added. He said that the entire information from the commencement of voting till storage of EVMs in the strong room, voting percentage and other related information would be available on the website. He said that as many as 1600 election supervisors have been deputed in the field who would provide latest booth wise information through SMS from their registered mobile numbers within every two hour. This would ensure the authenticity of data and accountability of supervisors, he added.Walgad said that 100 polling stations have been identified each from all ten Parliamentary Constituencies in the State where the facility of web casting would be provided. Thus, total 1000 sensitive polling stations have been identified in the State where live webcasting of polling would be done and the same would be monitored by the department. Apart from this, CCTVs would also be installed at the polling centres as per the connectivity. He said that 3000 polling stations have been declared as sensitive and hyper sensitive.

The Chief Electoral Officers said that to ensure smooth conduct of General Elections in the State, 48,754 police personnel and 60 companies of central para-military forces have been deputed. Out of this, 33,556 personnel of Haryana Police and 45 companies of central para-military forces would be deputed on polling centre whereas, 13038 police personnel and 15 companies would be deputed in the sensitive areas. Apart from this, 2160 personnel have been deputed for election expenditure and they would also supervise the election expenditure on April 9 and 10, 2014. Besides, 5000 micro observer have been deputed and arrangement of 18193 control units and 32567 ballet units has been made.He said that under the joint campaign run by Police, Excise and Taxation Department and Police, as many as 79321 bottles of liquor, 760 gram of opium, 693 kilogram poopy husk, 198 kilogram doda husk, 540 gram charas, 141gram smack, 1080 kilogram lahan and 1.1950 kilogram ganja have so far been seized in the State. Apart from this 798.8 gram gold   and unaccounted money to the tune of Rs. 1.77 crore has also been seized from the State.

Walgad said that total 230 candidates are in fray for the General Elections in the State. He said that Congress, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has filed their candidates on all ten parliamentary seats  whereas, BJP has filed its candidate on eight seats, HJC (BL) and CPI two seats each and CPM on three seats. Apart from this, 64 candidates of registered political parties, 121 independent candidates and 11 women candidates were contesting the elections. Maximum 41 candidates are contesting from Hisar Parliamentary Constituency. He said that elector wise, Gurgaon is the largest parliamentary constituency and Sonipat is smallest parliamentary constituency. Similarly, area wise, Sirsa is the largest parliamentary constituency and Faridabad is the smallest.
