Charging the Congress-NC coalition leadership with unleashing a hate campaign against BJP Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi, BJP Candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency & State President Jugal Kishore Sharma on Thursday said that it has no positive agenda for the people and the country and only trying to pert the people’s attention from the real issues facing the people. “The frustrated Congress and NC leaders are converting the pious democratic and electoral exercise into a debate between secularism and communalism. It is a recognize fact that the Congress and the NC are rabidly communal organizations which have all along sought to pide the society on caste, religious and regional lines for vote bank. The latest example is AICC President Sonia Gandhi’s April 1 statement that the Muslims should vote in one direction. What she said during her meeting with Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid was nothing but a brazen indulgence in communal politics calculated to polarize the voters,” he said while addressing elections meetings at Birpur, Meen Charaka, Datta Talab, Smailpur, Badori, Sangwal and Salmeri in the Vijaypur assembly constituency.

Sharma said that it is strange that the Congress and the NC, instead of contesting election on democratic and economic issues, are only indulging in a negative campaigning to create bitterness  between the communities and regions, and added that the people of the state have already seen through the evil game plan of the ruling coalition and have decided to inflict a crushing defeat on the coalition candidates. He said the ruling coalition candidates have forfeited their moral and political right to seek mandate from Jammu as their parties have never treated the people of Jammu province part and parcel of the state and excluded them from all walks of life. He said it is not for nothing that an extreme sense of frustration and despondency has gripped the entire population of Jammu province, barring those close to the corridors of power.

Accusing the Congress-NC coalition of according a step-motherly treatment to the people of Jammu province, he said even a cursory glance at the official statistics relating to 8th, 9th ,10th and 11th plan would be enough to draw a conclusion that while Kashmir has got more funds for developmental activities, Jammu province has got only crumbs. To make is point, he said that Srinagar district consisting of 272 villages and having a land area 2228 sq km got Rs. 21409.55 lakh rupees between 2002 and 2007, Jammu district consisting of 1193 villages and having a land area of 3097 sq km got only rupees 31109.31 lakh. This should expose the biased approached of the Congress towards Jammu, he said, and added that the people of Jammu province are totally fed-up with the NC-Congress coalition government in the state and the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

Sharma said that the Modi wave is sweeping the country and the situation in Jammu province is no different and added that the people will ensure a massive win of the BJP candidates not only in this province but also in Ladakh as well as Kashmir. Commenting on the problems facing the local population, Jugal said that the state government has consistently ignored  areas like Veerpur, Smailpur, Sangli and parts of Vijaypur, despite the fact that the people of these areas have all along played a very important role in the history of the state. He expressed disgust over the miserable plight of the refugees from West Pakistan and SCs and OBCs and held the state government responsible for adopting anti-people policies.

The BJP candidate said 2014 election is very crucial in every respect and a wrong decision would not only mar their political and economic future but also help the pisive forces to undermine the country’s unity and integrity and promote communalism and separatism. He said a vote for the BJP would be a vote for development, peace, prosperity, empowerment, fair dispensation and for a regime which will create more and more employment opportunities for the suffering youth across the country. The motto of the BJP is to establish in the country a nation-centric, people-centric and accountable and democratic government committed to mitigating the hardships and problems of the people. He expressed the hope that the people would join Narendra Modi’s 272+ mission in large numbers to rid India of the Congress misrule.

Chander Prakash Ganga, Keshav Dutt, Tarseem Kumar, Gautam Singh, Sanjay Singh, Ravi Singh, Sushil Kumar, Tilak Raj, Tilak Raj Verma, Capt. Mohan Lal, Som Dutt Verma, Sushil Kumar, Basant Singh, Dr. Puran Chand and others accompanied Sharma.Meanwhile, in a function held at party headquarters, a large number of youth from Kalakot and Mendhar joined BJP under prominent social activist Ch. Mohd. Mushtaq Razdan. They were welcomed and garlanded by Jugal Kishore Sharma, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Chander Mohan Sharma (Adv.), Farooq Khan and Surinder Bhagat.Prominent among those who joined BJP included Shakeel Ahmed, Rayaz Choudhary, Mohd. Ashraf, Muzaffar Choudhary, Khushal Ahmed, Maninder Singh, Trilok Singh, Devi Dass, Gaj Bahadur Singh, Sohbit Singh, Parshotam Lal, Abdul Rasool, Salmaan Soz and others.
