The Centre has asked government forces not to launch operations in Jammu and Kashmir during the holy month of Ramadhan.The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the decision has been taken to help the ‘peace-loving Muslims observe Ramadhan in a peaceful environment. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has been informed of the decision by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, reports said.However, the Centre has said that the government forces to “reserve the right to retaliate if attacked or if essential to protect the lives of innocent people.”“The Centre asks Security Forces not to launch operations in Jammu & Kashmir during the holy month of Ramadhan. Decisiontaken to help the peace loving Muslims observe Ramzan in a peaceful environment,” HMO India wrote on Twitter. In another tweet, he said, “Security Forces to reserve the right to retaliate if attacked or if essential to protect the lives of innocent people,” adding that It is important to isolate the forces that bring a bad name to Islam by resorting to mindless violence and terror,” he wrote.
