The arrest of a Varsity student along with his father sparked protest at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora on Saturday.Police during a nocturnal raid had arrested Mechanical Engineering student Tasaduq Rashid and his father. The father-son are lodged at police station Awantipora. Tasaduq according to police played a key role in organizing protest against civilian killings at the Varisty.Reports said that scores of student at IUST assembled at campus and demanded immediate release of Tasaduq. The protesting students chanted anti-police and pro-freedom slogans.The students warned that they will intensify their protest and will hit to roads in case Tasaduq who according to them is innocent is not released.
