The Punjab Government has released the amount of Rs. 112.78 crore under 'Aashirwad' scheme which is given at the time of the marriage of girls belonging to Scheduled Castes/Backward Classes families.Disclosing this here today, Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that the State Government has released the amount of one year from the pending amount under Aashirwad scheme. He also said that the amount of Rs. 15000 from December 2016 to June 2017 and Rs. 21000 from July to December, 2017 has been released to 65377 beneficiaries on per beneficiary basis. He further said that under the Aashirwad scheme, the amount pertaining to the beneficiaries of 2018 would also be released soon.Detailing more, the minister said that under the scheme, Rs. 11.44 crore have been released for 6676 girls of SC/BC families of Amritsar, Rs. 2.7 crore for 1185 girls of Barnala, Rs. 4.59 crore for 2664 girls of Bathinda, Rs. 2.8 crore for 1188 girls of Faridkot, Rs. 2.71 crore for 1556 girls of Fatehgarh Sahib, Rs. 6.46 for 3785 girls of Fazilka, Rs. 4.39 crore for 2541 girls of Ferozepur, Rs. 8.32 for 4748 girls of Gurdaspur, Rs. 6.47 for 3746 girls of Hoshiarpur, Rs. 6.83 crore for 4019 girls of Jalandhar, Rs. 3.13 crore for1828 girls of Kapurthala, Rs. 9.48 crore for 5526 girls of Ludhiana, Rs. 4.5 crore for 2360 girls of Mansa, Rs. 3.47 crore for 1986 girls of Moga, Rs. 4.24 crore for 2450 girls of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Rs. 3.63 crore for 2066 girls of Pathankot, Rs. 6.36 for 3804 girls of Patiala, Rs. 3.24 crore for 1833 girls of Rupnagar, Rs. 2.52 crore for 1452 girls of SAS Nagar (Mohali), Rs. 2.97 crore for 1743 girls of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Rs. 6.46 crore for 3695 girls of Sangrur and Rs. 7.76 crore for 4526 girls of Tarntaran.Mr. Dharamsot added that the government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to fulfill its every promise. He further said that the welfare department would ensure the implementation of all welfare schemes with full transparency and provide benefit to the genuine beneficiaries.
