National Lok Adalats held across Baramulla

In order to provide free legal services, facilitate amicable settlement of the disputes and reduce pendency of cases in courts, National Lok Adalat was held today at Court Complex Baramulla.The National Lok Adalat was organised by District Legal Service Authority Baramulla under the chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajesh Shikri, who is the chairman of the District Legal Service Authority.The Lok Adalat was presided by Ist Additional District Judge Baramulla Jeema Bashir where as Sub Judge Baramulla Khursheed-ul-Islam was also present during the Lok Adalat.As many as 152 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, comprising of civil and Revenue cases. 90 cases were settled amicably on the spot beside Rs 3500000 was realized as the settlement amount.Meanwhile, National Lok Adalat was also organized by Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sopore in Court Complex which comprised of three different benches. 

The first bench was presided by Additional District Judge Shazia Tabasum, second bench presided by Chief Judicial  Magistrate Masarat Roohi while as the third one was presided by District Mobile Magistrate Jehangir Bakshi.On the occasion, 430 cases of various natures including Criminal, Bank cases, MACT cases, Matrimonial, Revenue were taken into account during which 403 cases were settled on spot. Moreover, Rs 24.90 lakh was realized as settlement amount besides an amount of Rs 1.10 lakh as fine on various cases.Similarly, another National Lok Adalat was organized in the premises of Tehsil Court Complex uri under the chairmanship of Sub-judge Uri Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, who is also the chairman Tehsil legal Services authority. As many as 78 cases of various natures were taken up in which 32 cases were settled amicably on the spot beside Rs 81,300 was realized as the settlement amount.
