The brutal rape and murder of minor Asifa and the support to her culprits by Hindu fanatics, Jammu Bar Association and other anti-Muslim elements in Jammu region have once again taken the lid off the gory fact that neither the life and property of Muslims of J&K, nor the other minorities is safe in the State.This was stated by the Karawan-e-Islami patron Ghulam Rasool Hami while addressing the Friday congregational gathering at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood (RA) at Batamaloo in Srinagar. Hami said that the rape and murder of minor Asifa is a blot on the face of entire humanity and the incident has shaken the people of not only J&K but entire India and the world as well. He termed the solidarity and the open support to the culprits involved in this heinous act as the worst form of State terrorism.He said that on one hand minorities including Muslims are every day targeted in various states of India that include Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal, on the other, Muslims in Kashmir, especially the Kashmir’s young lot are being killed in cold blood.Hami without naming any political party or mainstream leader said that mere making statements won’t to and it’s the right time to act on ground to set an example by punishing the guilty in the murder and rape of Asifa so that no such crime takes place again.Hami said that because of the frequent killings of innocent civilians in Kashmir, a reign of terror and an atmosphere of suffocation is prevailing in the State which needs to be addressed soon. He said it is high time concrete efforts are taken for the immediate resolution of vexed Kashmir issue which is the main reason for the bloodbath in the region. He said that the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of people is the key to peace for entire South Asia.Meanwhile, Hami paid rich tributes to Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Dawood alias Batamaloo Sahab (RA) stating that it was because of the hard work of these great saints, people in Kashmir are on the right path today. He urged people to follow the footsteps of these pious and great saints to secure a place in heavens hereafter. Hami also urged people to intensify the campaign launched by the Karwan-e-Islami against eradicating the menace of growing liquor consumption and the drug abuse in Kashmir. (PTK)
