Punjab Kala Parishad has been started an awareness campaign to inculcate traditional and cultural awareness about the rich heritage of Punjab among the youth. Revealing this here today Dr. Surjit Patar, Chairman, Punjab Kala Parishad said that 'LOK RANG- 2018' traditional and cultural category based inter-college competition would be organized by the Punjab Kala Parishad on April 17 at Ramgarhia College, Ludhiana.Dr. Patar further stated that  the Punjab Kala Parishad is organizing the program 'LOK RANG- 2018' in accordance with the pledge and vision of Cultural Affairs & Tourism Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu to connect the youth with the rich historical and cultural heritage of Punjab. The program will be followed by the cultural performances showcasing the vibrant colours of Punjab by the different teams of the colleges during competition. The performances would include Kali Gayan, Vaar Gayan, Kavishri, Traditional songs sung by women, Kabitt Gayan, Phulkari Stiching among many more.Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal, General Secretary, Punjab Kala Parishad stated that the foremost motive behind the competition is to create awareness about immensely rich heritage and cultural folklores of Punjab amongst young generation. He then further said that Dr. Nirmal Jaura as the coordinator at 'LOK RANG- 2018'. He also stated that the certificates and prizes will be distributed to each category of winners and later the overall trophy would also be awarded. Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal appealed to the colleges to send great number of teams for the competition.
