Minister of State for Education, Technical Education and Tourism, Priya Sethi emphasizing the need for prioritizing infrastructural development in education sector, especially at far flung areas, called upon the MLAs to play an active and decisive role in their respective constituencies for on ground results.The Minister stated this while convening a series of meetings to discuss vital issues for streamlining the educational setup in far flung areas, here today.MLA Doda, Shakti Parihar, MLA Bhaderwah, Daleep Singh Parihar, MLA Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmed Shah, State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Abdul Rashid War, State Project Director, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Tufail Mattoo, Director School Education, Jammu, Rakesh Kumar Srangal, Joint Director (P) Education, Javaid Iqbal, Joint Director, School Education, Jammu, Charandeep Singh besides concerned Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) of the department attended the meeting.During the meetings, detailed discussion was held on improving the infrastructural setups in schools by optimally utilizing the resources to achieve adequacy and improve the facilities in government run schools.

Stressing on availability of adequate teaching staff, the Minister directed the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Doda, Ramban and Udhampur for rationalization of the teaching staff. She also directed the concerned officers to scrutinize the deployments of Rehber-e-Taleem Teachers (ReTs) in these areas.Priya Sethi sought a detailed report of district wise fund utilization and took stock of supply and availability of furniture and related utilities in government run schools.The Minister also directed for identification of additional land for augmenting educational infrastructure in these areas and instructed the concerned to work out the plan for land acquisition as per the desired requirement.The concerned MLAs also put forth several demands of their respective constituencies regarding availability of teaching staff in government run schools, their infrastructural needs, upgradation of existing and creation of new schools.The Minister passed immediate directions to the concerned officers and instructed them to take the requisite steps for the benefit of the public at large.Priya Sethi also asked the senior functionaries of the education department to intervene and ensure speedy completion of the pending work. She directed the concerned officers to take the local MLAs on board and consider constructive recommendations and take feedbacks from them. She asked them to make compliance in regard to the issues of hanging schools as a special case.Issues pertaining to Bi-annual examination, introduction of new subjects were also discussed.
