A 22-year-old Kangan youth, who was admitted at SKIMS Soura in critical condition on Monday evening, lost his battle for life today, succumbed to injuries at Srinagar Hospital.Gowhar Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Rehman Rather was admitted late Monday evening in SKIMS. Gowhar succumbed today in the afternoon due to serious firearm injury in his head.Meanwhile Locals had also alleged that the youth was hit by a bullet in security forces’ action at Kangan in during the clashes.However police had dined the reports regarding bullet injury. Police had said that the allegations are completely false since no bullet was fired on the spot.Meanwhile reports said that youth defied restrictions and staged protests in the area after the news of Gowhar’s deat spread in the area. The protesters pelted the forces with stones who responded by firing tear gas.Reports said that forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters in which another youth was critically injured. Earlier in the day, authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions in the area to stem any protests against the injuring of the youth in police action yesterday. (PTK)
